| ITINERARY: SEPT. 25/THU: NY-PARIS Overnight flight from JFK to Paris. Dinner and breakfast on board. SEPT. 26/FRI: PARIS Early morning arrival in Paris and transfer to the Cathedral Sacré Coeur. Upon arrival we will visit the beautiful Cathedral and celebrate our first Mass as a group at the crypt. Check in our hotel and free time for lunch. Afternoon guided tour of the Sainte-Chapelle. Built by Louis IX in the 1240's to house relics from the Holy Land believed to be the Crown of Thorns and part of the True Cross, this small Gothic chapel is one of the inspiring visual experiences of Paris. Much of this is due to its stained glass windows which essentially surround the entire upper floor. We will also visit the Conciergerie. The Conciergerie takes its name from the concierge appointed by the king who held judicial rights over the royal residence and its outbuildings. Of the Capetian palace some magnificent Gothic halls survive, testimony to the royal splendours of the 14th century. In the halls used as the backdrop to the Terror, these tragic times are evoked by an audiovisual and pictorial presentation and a reconstruction of Marie-Antoinette’s cell... Dinner and overnight in Paris. SEPT. 27/SAT PARIS Today after breakfast we will depart for a city Tour of Paris « historical and. modern » with its main monuments : la Concorde, le Louvre, l'île de la Cité, l'Hôtel de Ville, la Place des Vosges, la Bastille, le Quartier Latin, l'avenue des Champs Elysées, l'Arc de Triomphe, l'Opéra, la Madeleine... Free time for lunch. Afternoon transfer to Rue du Bac for our mass at the Chapel of the Miraculous Medal. After Mass, guided tour of the chapel. It’s in this chapel that the Virgin Mary appeared, the 27th November of 1830 to sister Catherine Labouré. It became a sanctuary where the body of Saint Catherine and Louise de Marillac, founder of the congregation, rest. After dinner a commented Cruise on the river Seine, while admiring Paris from a different point of view… Following the current with you, classical musics and songs, French and international, give rhythm to the cruise. You will enjoy the city in another way, in a convivial and relaxed atmosphere. Dinner and overnight in Paris. SEPT. 28/SUN PARIS-LISIEUX After breakfast we travel northwest by motor coach to the town of Lisieux, the home of St Therese whom Pope Pius X called "the greatest saint of modern times." Her extraordinary love for God and service to humanity come alive as you visit the Basilica Cathedral of St Peter, and Les Buissonets, her family home. On display are relics, clothing, and personal objects belonging to the "little flower." View the statue depicting the Virgin Mary who smiled at St Therese during an ecstasy before curing her illness. Combine your prayers in the Carmel Chapel with those of the Carmelite sisters, just as St Therese did before her death in 1897. Dinner and overnight in Paris. SEPT. 29/MON PARIS-LOURDES Today we say goodbye to Paris, after breakfast we will transfer to the beautiful Cathedral of Notre Dame and take part in a French Mass with our own priest co-celebrating (Only a part of the Eucharistic prayer will be in English) Late morning transfer to Orly airport for a short flight to Pau. Mid afternoon arrival in Pau and motor coach to Lourdes. Upon your arrival in Lourdes transfer to your hotel. Relax or explore before dinner. Evening candlelight Rosary procession. SEPT. 30/TUE LOURDES We begin our day in Lourdes with Mass and a guided tour of Lourdes, including the sanctuary; the Basilica of St Pius X, the world's largest underground church; and the baths where hundreds of miraculous cures have taken place. You will visit the Mill (birth place of Bernadette) and Le Cachot (jail where the family was living when Our Lady appeared). Free time for private prayer and for you to experience Lourdes. (Optional) 5PM participate in blessing of the sick, being blessed by the Blessed Sacrament. Evening candlelight Rosary procession. OCT. 1/WED LOURDES On our second day in Lourdes, after breakfast the group will take part in International Mass. After Mass you’ll have free time for you to join your prayers with pilgrims from around the world as you pray for the sick, drink water from the miraculous spring or submerge yourself in the healing baths. Three o’clock our group will make the famous Stations of the Cross. Experience Christ's love as you walk the life-sized Stations of the Cross overlooking the holy Grotto. Evening candlelight Rosary procession. OCT. 2/THU LOURDES Today we begin our last full day in Lourdes with Holy Mass and the rest of the day on your own. (Optional) afternoon video presentation telling the story of Lourdes, and walk in the footsteps of St Bernadette. Evening candlelight Rosary procession. OCT. 3/FRI LOURDES/NY This morning after early Mass and breakfast we will depart Lourdes and transfer to Toulouse for our short flight to Paris and to our flight to JFK. |
